About Me

I am a Chartered member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.  After gaining a Rural Practice RICS degree at Seale Hayne Agricultural College, I started working for North Somerset Council working in both development management (control at the time) and policy teams.  I left North Somerset in 2000 to work in the Planning Inspectorate in Bristol, where I was a Planning Officer assisting Inspectors at Local Plan Inquiries, Structure Plan EiPs and RPG Examinations.  I gained a post graduate RTPI accredited qualification in 2003.  I left the public sector in 2005 and have worked as a consultant since, including with Savills and as an independent planning consultant since 2012.  Of course, I should demonstrate that I have a life outside planning.  I can confirm that I have a family and various hobbies.
